Initiated by Photovoices Indonesia coordinator Saraswati, the Lamalera school club initially provided cameras to six outstanding students from the Lamalera middle school. With the huge initial success of the program, it grew to become a permant part of the school curriculum for all the students.

The stories with these pictures came from talks between facilitators and photographers and subsequent conversations that Lamalera elders had with many people in the community about the meaning of the pictures. All pictures were taken by Photovoices volunteer photographers.
